Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 1, 2026

1. Introduction

GripVid ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website gripvid.proofmatcher.com and use our free online video downloading service (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the Service. We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

2. Information We Collect

Information Automatically Collected: When you visit our website, we may automatically collect certain information about your device, including your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, time spent on pages, and other diagnostic data. This information is collected through standard web server logs and analytics tools. We use this information to analyze trends, administer the site, track user movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.

URLs Submitted: When you use our Service to download a video, you submit a video URL. We process this URL in real-time to fetch the video information and available download options. We do not permanently store the URLs you submit or the videos you download. All processing data is temporary and is automatically deleted after the download session is completed.

Cookies: We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate the Service, understand how it is used, and — where advertising is shown — to help select which advertisements you see. Cookies are small data files stored on your device. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent, and you can delete cookies already stored. If you refuse cookies, the Service will still work, but some features and preferences may not be remembered between visits. Section 5 explains the advertising cookies specifically, and how to opt out of them.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes: to provide, operate, and maintain the Service; to improve, personalize, and expand the Service; to understand and analyze how you use the Service; to develop new products, services, features, and functionality; to communicate with you for customer service and support; to send you updates and other information relating to the Service; to detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security threats; and to comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information, and we do not hand it to third parties for their own commercial purposes. We may publish or share aggregated information that describes traffic rather than individuals.

There is one thing worth being precise about: the advertising and analytics providers described in Sections 5 and 6 set their own cookies in your browser and collect data directly, under their own privacy policies. That is not us passing your information on — but it does mean those companies receive data about your visit, and you should read Sections 5 and 6 to understand what they collect and how to opt out.

We may also disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency), or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

5. Advertising and Advertising Cookies

We use Google AdSense to display advertising on the Service. The disclosures in this section are the ones Google requires of publishers who show its ads, and they describe how advertising cookies work.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or to other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Opting out does not remove advertising; it means the ads you see are no longer selected using your browsing history.
  • You may opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices or, in Europe, at youronlinechoices.eu.
  • Google's own explanation of how it handles data on sites that use its services is published at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

We do not provide advertisers with your name, email address, or any other information that identifies you personally. Advertising cookies are set by the ad providers themselves and are governed by their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

6. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the Service — which pages are opened, how long they are read, and roughly where in the world visitors are. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and processes this data on our behalf. It tells us about visitors in aggregate; it does not tell us who you are.

If you would rather not be measured at all, Google publishes a browser add-on that disables Google Analytics on every site you visit: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

7. Third-Party Services

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites, services, or platforms that are not owned or controlled by GripVid. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.

When you submit a video link, our servers contact the platform that hosts that video in order to read what formats are available. That request comes from our infrastructure, not from your browser, so the platform receives our server's address rather than yours. We do not send the platform any information about you.

8. Data Security

The security of your personal information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your information, including the use of SSL/TLS encryption for data transmission and secure server infrastructure.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to anyone under the age of 13 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from children without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.

10. Data Retention

Submitted video links and the files prepared from them are temporary. A prepared file is deleted from our servers automatically a short time after it is made available to you, and links are not kept in any permanent record. Server logs and analytics data, which describe traffic rather than individuals, are retained only as long as they are useful for diagnosing problems and understanding how the Service is used.

11. Your Data Protection Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to access it, correct it, request its deletion, object to how it is used, or request a copy of it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through our Contact page and we will respond in accordance with applicable law.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom: we process the limited data described above on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving the Service, and — for advertising and analytics cookies — on the basis of consent where consent is required. You may withdraw that consent at any time using the opt-out links in Sections 5 and 6, or by clearing and blocking cookies in your browser. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

If you are a California resident: we do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising in exchange for payment. You may still request access to, or deletion of, any personal information we hold, and we will not discriminate against you for making such a request.

12. Contact Us

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, or wish to exercise any of the rights described above, please contact us through our Contact page.
