Downloading Videos

How do I download a video?

What video quality options are available?

GripVid offers multiple quality levels depending on the source video: 360p (SD), 480p (ED), 720p (HD), 1080p (Full HD), 1440p (2K), and 2160p (4K Ultra HD). The available options depend on the original upload quality.

Why does my download have no audio?

GripVid automatically merges video and audio streams, so your downloads should always include sound. If you experience a silent video, it's likely because the original video had no audio track. Try downloading again — if the issue persists, the source video may genuinely be silent.

What file format are downloads saved in?

All video downloads are saved as MP4 files with H.264 video encoding and AAC audio. MP4 is universally compatible with all devices, operating systems, and media players.

Can I download audio only (MP3)?

Currently, GripVid downloads videos as MP4 files with audio included. Dedicated MP3 extraction is planned for a future update.

Yes! GripVid fully supports YouTube Shorts. Simply copy the Shorts URL and paste it into GripVid — it works just like any other YouTube video download.

Can I download Instagram Reels?

Absolutely. GripVid is one of the best Instagram Reel downloaders available. Copy the Reel's URL from Instagram (via the Share button → Copy Link), paste it into GripVid, and download in HD quality.

Can I download private or restricted videos?

No. GripVid can only download publicly available videos. Private, age-restricted, or DRM-protected content cannot be accessed by our service.

Is GripVid safe to use?

Yes. GripVid is scanned and verified by Norton Safe Web. We do not serve popup ads, install malware, or use deceptive download buttons. Your safety is our top priority.

Does GripVid store my downloaded videos?

No. All video processing is done in real-time. Temporary files are automatically deleted from our servers after download. We never store, archive, or redistribute your downloaded content.

Troubleshooting

My download isn't working. What should I do?

Try these steps: (1) Make sure you copied the correct, full URL, (2) Check that the video is publicly available, (3) Refresh the page and try again, (4) Try a different browser. If the issue persists, the platform may be temporarily restricting downloads.

The download is taking too long. Is that normal?

Download time depends on the video length, quality selected, and your internet speed. A 10-minute video in 1080p may take 15-30 seconds to process. If it takes longer than a minute, try refreshing and resubmitting.

Can I download multiple videos at once?

GripVid currently processes one video at a time. After completing a download, you can immediately paste another URL and start a new download. Batch downloading may be added in a future update.
