How Instagram Reels work
Reels are Instagram's short vertical videos, and they are the one Instagram format that behaves predictably. A public Reel stays up until its author deletes it, is served at a stable resolution, and carries no burned-in watermark of its own — the credit strip you see belongs to the Instagram interface, not to the video file. That means the file you save is the file that was uploaded.

A Reel link contains
/reel/. If yours contains/p/it is a feed post — that still works here, but the quality table below applies to Reels specifically. -

Reels are usually offered at 1080×1920. If you only want the audio — a sound you want to reuse — choose MP3 and the track is extracted without the video.

Reels from private accounts cannot be reached, whether or not you follow the account — GripVid is not signed in as you. A Reel deleted by its author is gone immediately.

Instagram Reels questions
No. The username strip you see while browsing is drawn by the Instagram app over the video, not baked into the file. GripVid fetches the underlying MP4, so what you save is the clean upload.
The file downloads with its audio intact, but the music is still owned by whoever wrote it. Saving it for personal viewing is one thing; republishing it commercially is a separate matter and licensing is your responsibility.
Instagram re-encodes uploads, and a Reel filmed on an older phone or exported at a low bitrate never existed at 1080p. GripVid can only offer what Instagram actually stores — it cannot invent detail that was never there.
